Apparently there is nothing new about the fact terrorism is very dependent on open media systems especially in democratic countries so they can spread their ideas, ideals and “goals”. Apart from the social media they use so people can stay informed a major part is also the media that is spread about them. The violent acts they do against innocent civilians get them a lot of attention in the widespread media. Even though individual media organizations do not support the goals of terrorists, it is their job to report current events and issues. In the competitive media environment, when a terrorist attack occurs, media outlets fight to cover the event. This helps to spread the message of terrorist organizations:Although I am personally very in favour of the open media I do understand that the free media in an open society is very vulnerable to exploitation and manipulation by terrorists.
