Are we easily influenced by the media?

I believe we are influenced by the media a lot, and very easily too. Feel all it takes is merely a few “buzz words” on a supermarket product for us to want it really bad. But a part from marketing, which has advanced a lot in the last years the other media such as TV series, newspaper etc.. also have a large effect on us.

Our daily lives seem to be connected closely with the media we receive, but I can’t tell if this is such a good thing.

That children about our age would commit suicide, imitating their favourite actress seems very unreal, but it is known to happen, showing the media is a very large influence especially on young peoples lives, whilst growing up.

"There had been instances in the past that teens commit suicide imitating her favorite actress. There was also a case where somebody set a subway ticket booth on fire just like the way he saw it in his favorite film."
