Researching this topic, I found out that not only do different generations have different music preferences, but each individual has different "stages" of music preference throughout their life. Even if one swears one likes the same music forever, it will change over time.

 

Teenagers nowadays like to listen to up-to-date music which keeps coming out new, once a song has been played for a few weeks it is mostly “listened to dead”, and new titles are found and shared with the clique. I thought that possibly nowadays there is a larger variety, through the large range of media especially on the Internet. Music artists have the Internet to spread their music around the world much faster and become famous from scratch to a bigger audience.
